Our goal

New Era Hospice wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use this website. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

What we do

• Pages use clear headings, landmarks and text descriptions of images, so screen readers can move through them.
• Everything works with a keyboard, and you can always see where you are on the page.
• Text and controls meet WCAG contrast levels, and pages still work when you enlarge the text, change its spacing or use a narrow screen.
• The site follows your device’s reduced motion setting, and the homepage video can be paused.
• The site works without JavaScript and in high contrast (forced colors) modes.
• The call-back form labels every field, explains each error in words and keeps what you typed.

We test every page with the axe accessibility checker at desktop and phone sizes, and we check keyboard use, reduced motion and text spacing.

Known limits

The video at the top of the homepage has no sound and no spoken words, so it doesn’t need captions. It describes nothing that isn’t also in the text.

Links to other websites, such as Google Maps for directions, lead to sites we don’t control. Automated tests can’t find every problem, so please tell us about anything we missed.
