Privacy policy
This policy covers the New Era Hospice website. Our Notice of Privacy Practices is a separate document: it explains how patients’ health information may be used and shared.
Effective date: October 14, 2026.
What this policy covers
This policy explains what information the New Era Hospice website at www.neweracaregivers.com collects, how we use it and the choices you have. The website is operated by New Era Hospice, Inc., a licensed hospice in Sacramento, California.
This policy covers the website only. How we use and protect patients’ health information under HIPAA is explained in our Notice of Privacy Practices
Information you give us: the call-back form
The only form on this website is the call-back request on our Contact page. It asks for:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address, if you choose to give it
- Who the care is for (you, a family member or your patient), if you choose to answer
- Your consent for us to contact you about hospice care
The form also sends the address of the page you sent it from and a time stamp that helps us block automated spam. It has no field for medical details, and we ask you not to include any.
We use this information only to call you back, or to email you if you gave an address, about hospice care. We don’t use it for advertising.
How your request reaches us
When you send the form, our web server passes your request over an encrypted connection to our own email account, which is hosted by Google Workspace. Google has agreed to a HIPAA business associate agreement for that account.
The website doesn’t keep your request. It isn’t saved in a database or a file on the web server, and what you type is never written to the server’s logs. If a request can’t be delivered, the server records only that a delivery failed, with a random reference number and an error code.
To stop automated abuse, the server holds your device’s IP address in its working memory, not on disk, to limit how many requests can be sent in a row. It is used for nothing else and is cleared when the server restarts.
Our staff use your request to call you back. Once it reaches us, we keep it confidential. If you become our patient, it becomes part of your health record, and our Notice of Privacy Practices applies to it.
Information collected automatically: server logs
Like most web servers, the server that hosts this website records each request it receives in access logs. For each request the logs hold:
- The IP address of your device or network
- The date and time
- The page or file requested and whether it loaded
- Your browser’s user agent: the browser and its version and your device’s operating system
- The address of the page that linked to ours, if your browser sends it
Our hosting provider is Namecheap. We use these logs to keep the website working and secure and to see overall visit numbers in the AWStats report of our hosting control panel. AWStats counts visits, pages, referring sites and countries from the same logs: it adds no code to our pages, sets no cookies and sends nothing to an analytics company.
Cookies, analytics and tracking
This website sets no cookies. It uses no analytics or advertising tags, no social media trackers, no web beacons and no other third-party scripts, and it doesn’t use your browser’s storage to remember anything about you.
Our fonts, images and videos come from our own server, so opening a page doesn’t contact other companies. Links to other websites, such as Google Maps for directions, take you to sites that have their own privacy policies.
Do Not Track and other privacy signals
We don’t collect information about your online activities over time or across other websites, and no other company collects that kind of information through our website. Because there is no tracking to turn off, the website works the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal or a Global Privacy Control signal.
Who we share information with
We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We disclose it only:
- To the companies that run this website and our email for us: Namecheap (website hosting) and Google (Google Workspace email, under a HIPAA business associate agreement)
- When a law requires it
- If you become our patient, as our Notice of Privacy Practices describes
We don’t give personal information to other companies for their own marketing.
Reviewing or changing your information
The website has no accounts, so there is nothing to sign in to. To ask what information we have from a call-back request, to correct it or to ask us to delete it where the law allows, contact our Privacy Officer (the details are below).
Patients have more rights to see and correct their health records. They are explained in our Notice of Privacy Practices
California privacy laws
California’s Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (California Civil Code section 56 and following) protects medical information held by health care providers such as New Era Hospice. We protect medical information as that law and HIPAA require. The call-back form doesn’t ask for medical information, and we ask you not to send any through it.
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) applies only to businesses that meet certain thresholds (California Civil Code section 1798.140), and it doesn’t apply to medical information protected by the Confidentiality of Medical Information Act or to health information protected by HIPAA (section 1798.146).
To the extent the CCPA applies to other personal information collected through this website, California residents may ask us what personal information we collect, use and disclose, ask us to correct or delete it, and use these rights without being treated differently. We don’t sell or share personal information as the CCPA defines those words. To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer. We may need to confirm who you are before we answer.
Children’s privacy
This website is meant for adults looking into hospice care for themselves, a family member or a patient. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information through the website, please contact us so we can delete it.
How we protect information
The website is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Call-back requests travel to our email account over an encrypted connection and are not stored on the web server. No way of sending or storing information is completely secure, so please don’t send medical details through the website, by email or by text message.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date at the top. If a change is material, we will also say at the top of the policy what changed.
